One recently told me that it isn't in the Bible. However, it is what the Apostle Paul understood. Proper succession was the practice of the Jews and the Hebrews before them. To be ordained required examination by members of the Great Sanhedrin which alone had authority to approve ordination. Ordination involved the laying on of hands by a priest with the consent of three high-ranking priests.
